Welcome to the Oakfield School website...
Welcome to Oakfield Primary School!
Our fundamental aim at Oakfield Primary School is to offer children a happy, safe and caring environment which will enable them to develop to their full potential. Although our main objectives are to ensure that pupils are both literate and numerate, the school offers a very broad and balanced curriculum. While children are learning we believe it is vital that sufficient demands are placed upon each individual to ensure that he or she feels challenged. We encourage pupils to think and reason for themselves and to use their own initiative. These processes are carefully nurtured in a controlled and disciplined environment. The display of children's work around the school reflects the standard of work achieved, provides a stimulus as well as making the classroom interesting and inviting. If, having explored our website, you would like further information please do not hesitate to contact me. Whilst your child is at school, if there is ever any matter you wish to discuss, I shall always be pleased to see you.
Yours sincerely
D C PEDWELL

St. David's Day Parade 2010
This year the children of Oakfield Primary School took part in the St. David's Day Parade. Together with other schools, performers and Welsh Horses, we followed a jazz band as we walked, danced and waved our flags through our city's capital.
The day began with a Muster from King Edward VII Avenue, alongside the City Hall and the Law Courts. Then we moved off, past Cardiff Castle, along the High Street and on towards the brand new Library and St David's2 centre, finally finishing in the historic Hayes.
The sun shone, the crowd cheered, people waved and we all had a wonderful day!
Tai Chi:yn y ddinas - Tai Chi : in thecity.
Early one Wednesday morning, year five together with Mr Ruck and Mrs Price took part in Tai Chi lessons.
Celebrating 75 years of Cultural Relations sponsored by the Britsh Council, pupils were given the opportunity to experience this ancient Chinese art.
Welcome Friends!
Last year we had a visit from our Chinese partnership school - Renmin Primary. Here we are at the Millenium Stadium. We also visited St Fagans, Big Pit, Roath Park and Cardiff Castle together. It was lovely to meet teachers and children from the school.
Two teachers from Oakfield Primary school are visiting Renmin Primary school this spring. We look forward to hearing all about how our friends are doing and we are excited to be working together again on a joint school project in the summer term.
